About
About SaveTheClip
A free, private and ad-free way to save the videos and audio you're allowed to keep, from any device.
What we do
SaveTheClip turns a link into a file. Paste the address of a video, song or photo from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Spotify, Suno, Vimeo, Reddit and more than 1000 other sites, choose MP4, WebM, MP3, M4A or WAV, and download it. There is nothing to install and no account to create, on desktop or mobile.
How it works
When you press Download, our server reads the public page with the open-source yt-dlp engine (plus our own readers for Instagram, Facebook, Spotify and Suno), fetches the streams the site already serves to visitors and, when needed, merges or converts them with FFmpeg. The finished file is sent straight to your browser.
Files are deleted automatically
Downloads are stored only long enough for your browser to fetch them. Every file is removed from the server automatically within 30 minutes, and we never publish, share or build a library of what you download.
Security & privacy
The whole site runs over HTTPS behind Cloudflare. We don't ask for your name, email or social-media logins to download. We use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and a functional cookie to remember your preferred format. No advertising or remarketing cookies.
Respect for creators
SaveTheClip is meant for media you own or are licensed to use: your own uploads, Creative Commons and public-domain clips, or content you have permission to save. We don't bypass logins, paywalls, DRM or other protection, and private or encrypted media isn't supported.
Who's behind it
SaveTheClip is an independent project built and run by a small team of developers who wanted one honest, ad-free downloader that works everywhere. The same team writes the guides on our blog, tests every tool against real links, and answers every message sent through the contact page.
